Metal plating

Metal plating

Plating is a branch of metallurgy concerned with coating metal objects with thin layers of other metals, i.e. aluminium or nickel. The thickness of the coating is said to be 1,5-15% of the thickness of the substrate, but sometimes the thickness may be even 50%. Finished products are called platers.

Coating is done mainly by hot rolling. Other methods are broaching, cold rolling, casting, galvanic methods, immersed body methods, powder coating and explosive coating.

Plating has been known for many decades, and it is used for decorating objects, prevention of corrosion of metal and surface hardening. We differentiate two main groups of techniques such as:

Rolling is plastic forming of metal, by means of which sheet, sections and bars are formed.

Our plant deals with professional plastic forming of metal. More information on plastic forming of metal can be obtained at the following telephone number: +48 95 762 08 61.
